A Teaching and activity based ministry with classes for kids from nursery through elementary grades.
Children’s Church
Children from 3 years to 5th Grade are invited to come worship with us in our new Children’s church “Rooted” that teaches our children to worship freely, pray without ceasing, and live their life for the Lord throughout the week. The children are where it all begins, they are the roots of our church and our prayer is that they become “rooted and grounded in Christ.” “Rooted” is located in the Child Development center to the left of the main entrance to the YMCA.
10:00-10:30 Children from the age of 3 years old to 5th grade will worship with their parents in the Gym. There will sometimes be a ”children’s message” given by our Pastor Dodd Drake. Children will be dismissed and follow Elizabeth Alexander our children’s director and their teachers to their appropriate classrooms.
*Please note that children that are 3 years old but NOT potty trained will remain in the toddler class.
10:30-11:30 Small group time. Children will have classroom time and work through their curriculum, have prayer time with teachers as well as have free play and snack time.
11:30-11:45 Please come pick up your child.
*The children will come home with material to continue their lesson for the rest of the week, with studies you can do at home as a family.
*Please remember that although we worship in a gym we want to treat it as a sanctuary, please try and not allow your children to play with basketballs or any other YMCA equipment and be aware of where they are at all times, especially at the end of the service when the men are putting away the chairs. Thank you!
Nursery
Children from infants to the age of 3 are invited to spend from 9:45 to 11:30 in either our infant nursery (birth to 12months) or our toddler nursery (1yr-3yrs) our nursery located in child development center .
*The toddler class will also have snack time, craft time, and outside play (weather permitting).
Please sign your child in from 9:45- 10:10 and take a pager so that we can contact you in the case of an emergency.
Please pick your child up from 11:30- 11:45
