We are encouraged you are checking out our website. If you are new with us, Trinity is a community of people who hunger for God. Many of us have realized life is empty without Him. We welcome all people, no matter their story or where they are in spiritual journey. We are a church that hungers for authentic relationships, with God and with others. We also desire to make a difference in the world around us, and not be content with status quo living. We reject religiosity or playing church. You will find real people pursing real life and real love in the real Jesus. You will find a group of people struggling with life together, clinging to the hope we have in Jesus Christ. We are a place of hope and healing, laughter and love, truth and transformation. We are a Jesus Community becoming disciples who SAVOR Christ, SERVE People, and SHARE Hope.
Men's Fraternity is a ministry designed to help men be authentic and live out their calling. It is the best material and process we have found for growing men and developing spiritual leaders. Not only is the teaching powerful, but the process of building relaitonships with other men who also struggle but still seek Christ is motivating.
This year we are joining a city-wide movement where we are gathering with men from many other churches. We will meet on Wednesday mornings from 6 to 7:45 a.m., starting September 15th. We meet at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, in their fellowship hall (on the corner of 127 and 16th Ave NW--in the Viewmont area of Hickory).
Check out the website at www.hickorymensfrat.com. If you have any questions, email the city director, Earle Fincher, at earlefincher@gmail.com, or our own Men's Ministry Leader Jack Pennell at j.pennell@dsidsi.com.
Join Us in the journey of becoming men who are fully alive in Christ, full of His love, passion and courage.
We invite all newcomers to join us at the home of Dodd and Becky Drake on September 19th from 7:00-8:30 pm for dessert and fellowship! What a great combination! Come take the time to get to know one another, ask questions and eat sweets! If you have any questions or need child care for the evening contact Elizabeth Alexander (elizabethalexander@trinityfc.org).
Once a quarter instead of gathering at the YMCA Gym to worship, we go into our community and worshiped Jesus by serving in His love.
Our last Acts of Kindness was July 18th. We served at two locations from 9 a.m. to noon. One was Safe Harbor Rescue Mission (http://www.safeharborrescuemission.org/) . It is such an honor to partner with this ministry on an ongoing basis. They are truly living out the gospel as they provide a safe and healing place for broken people, centered around Jesus Christ.
The second was Project Hope, a local ministry that grows food for the poor. We picked vegetables and weeded. The food is given to local places that distribute the food to those in need in the name and love of Jesus Christ. You can read more about this ministry at www.catawbahope.wordpress.com
We are preparing for October 3rd! May we dive deep into the joy of giving our lives away serving people in the love of Jesus Christ.
Our current teaching series is on the book of Bible called Proverbs. Wisdom, the theme of this book, is much needed today. We live in a crazy and chaotic world where the path can be unclear and hard to know which way is best. Without wisdom we will become stuck, sink or lose our way, including in what matters the most, relationships.
Future topics are wisdom for marriage (Aug 29), and for parenting (Sept 5). We will also look at Priorities, Our Plans-God's Plans, and Friendships in September.
Come join us as we seek God's wisdom, for "wisdom" tells us , "When you find me, you find life, real life, to say nothing of God's good pleasure" (Proverbs 8:35, The Message).
Dodd, Pastor
