Why Home Groups?
"...the absolute center of what God does to help us change is to reveal Himself to us, to give us a taste of what He's really like and to pour His life into us. And a critical element of this revealing process is to place us in a community of people who are enough like Him to give us a taste first hand...a powerful experience of God comes through others." Larry Crabb, Connecting
The heart of God is relational. He has created us needing relationships. We thrive in authentic and biblical community, which is why we are passionate about Home groups. These small groups that meet in people's homes are the best way for intimate and transformational relationships to develop--with God, with each other, and with those outside the faith.
Relationships are the core of who we are as a church. We long to be an authentic community, with the Trinity being our model. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit experience a deep and joy-filled union, and we seek to relate to each other the way God relates within the Godhead. We want to love and serve each other deeply, and be involved in each others lives in a nurturing and nourishing way. We want to encourage and equip each other in our journey of being a disciple of Jesus (being with Jesus so we can become like Jesus).
This is one reason home groups are so crucial at Trinity Fellowship. We really do need each other. We need close and supportive friendships, a place we can share heart to heart, a safe place for us to share our struggles. We need a place where we can wrestle with what it means to trust God and follow Him wholeheartedly, a place we can learn from God's word together, and learn from each other. We need a place where we can learn together, struggle together, grow together, and work together to make a difference.
No person can grow and experience the fulness of life in Christ on their own. That is why we are excited about our Home Groups. Home groups are a gathering of people who meet on a regular basis to encourage and support each other in their spiritual journey. Home groups are a place to do life together. Groups are encouraged to share meals together, serve together, play together, laugh together, enjoy life together.
